Swap Swap Gals

My package arrived from Aurora. It actually arrived yesterday, but between 4 kids, myself, and 1 computer. I lost and didn't get to get on until tonight.
I was absolutely delighted with all the stuff! It was so much! I just kept unpacking and unpacking! What a thoughtful Swap partner. My favoites are definitely, the plastic bag holder. I had been eyeing those in the Pattern-a-day calendar and now I don't have to make one. It matches my kitchen beautifully. The bell will sit on top of my stove which is black ceramic so it sets off the colors great. The dish towels are perfect; I had all ready told Aurora how much I love a fresh set of towels and potholders! Anyway, I could go on and on. The mini-potholders are a great idea (glad you packed them, I'm going to be copying those!) I've actually set the bowl in my living room because its dressy enough and I could put nuts or mints in it for company.

This one is too darK to see the great colors(burgandy and forest green):

Home Today!

My sitter's little boy is sick, my hubby is sick, so I called in today and am staying home with my 4 year old! I had to rush around and get to work before students arrived and organize materials for the substitute. I hate to give up my Friday at work. I always get all my plans ready for next week. Oh well, it can't be helped. Tis the season....I'm just going to enjoy the relaxing day with my sweetie, Trenton. It is cold and flurries are in the air. Here's my dog in the backyard this morning.

Finge Fun-I have been having fun making this curly q fringe for scarves. I really like the colors of this one:

I think I'm going to try a hat and put these curly q's on top.

My latest:

Here is my latest cow potholder. I had to hold off posting it because I had to make sure my swap buddy, Aurora saw it first. I loved making him and hope to make more for presents. He's lovable.

We had a snow day on Thursday. we got a whole whopping 3-4 inches of snow and they called school! WooHoo! We stayed in our jammies until noon and then precided to laze around the rest of the day. What a welcome break it was. I did whip up a scarf for my hubby'e sister who is turning 50 on Saturday. I used thos little corkscrews for fring. I think it cam out really cute. I'm working on another one in different colors from my stash.

I had my second observation/evaluation done yesterday and everything was great. The lesson went like a dream, all the kids were well-behaved, everything worked!

Sunday

Well, that was the week that was. School was busy, home was busy, and this weekend was busy. Hopefully, today, I can sit for a stretch and "hook".

Yesterday we took the little boys down to the Sports Show at the auditorium and it was disapointing. A few good boats, way too many booths about fishing trips, and hardly any RV's. We then dropped by a favorite park and let them run around for awhile. It was chilly though, only 31 degrees, but they found a few freinds to run with so the cold didn't get to them for a bit.

the boys and I also stopped at the library and picked up a few books and I put an amigurimi book on hold for me. It should be here in a couple of days.

I did finish this scarf from Mr. Funky's book:

A close up of the flower, which is knid of neat because it can slide up and down the scarf wherever you want it.

Back to School

Back to a full day of teaching today! It was tiring, but I think pretty rewarding. the kids seemed happy to see me and eager to participate. I did have good, full lesson plans written out and we kept up a brisk pace.

I've started a couple of projects, but I can't share them yet. They might be going to my swap partner.

My first from the "Mr. Funky" book:

I had fun making this one especially the little dress!

I just got my Swap Swap Gals partnes from Lesa and am excited about being a part of a swap group for the first time.

I went back to work on Friday. We didn't have students, it was just a work day for us teachers. I got tons of things done: report cards, lesson plans, materials copied, posters made etc.
