Outside my door.........

I awoke to a white world. here are a few pictures before it was moved by traffic and people. My doggie certainly enjoys the snow, look at her coat that keeps her snuggily. My son Trenton going sledding with Dusty in the background.

While hubby is away.......conquering the WIPs!

I've had this purse in the WIPs pile for just about a year. All I needed to do was hand finsh the lining. It only took me 30 minutes. I can't believe I let this cuite sit that long. I'm stuffing this with wallet and cell tonite and carrying it to work in the morning.

Close up of lining with pocket!

Close up of stitches and yarn. I think I used one strand of Lionbrand suede and one strand of Lionbrand Moonlight mohair. Handles curtesy of Hobby Lobby with coupon, of course!

Here is another one I had in pile too, just had to add the handles. This one is knitted. Notice the ruffles down the sides. The body is in one type of yarn from HL and the ruffles are that yarn with fun fur.
My camera dosen't do it justice, its cute.

Close up of syitches and ruffle.
I visited my LYS on Saturday and treated myself to a skein of 100% wool to make this flying V scarf from the book Exquisite Little Knits.I love the stitch definition and the small flecks of color.

I also finished this frog ami for the Kindergarten teacher in our building. She lost her sister to cancer this past week and has been out of town attending the wake and funeral. I will have this in her box when she comes back to work on Tuesday. She is a big frog collector, so I thought it might brighten her spirits.

We are off to lunch with a friend since this is a no school day for us.

My $169 scarf!

The school nurse cut out a picture in the newspaper of a knitted scarf that was selling for $169 dollars(Marc Jacobs). I said "Ha!" and made it for $0 with yarn from my stash. It is a deep plum and I used size eight needles and just alternated 11 rows of stockinette stitch with 14 rows of garter stitch.

My DH is in CA for the next 10 days doing some training. This should help him get a job in such a tough market. I am holding my own with 4 kiddos here at home. (What was I thinking when I said I wasn't done when I just had 1?) Anyway, we're doing well and having casual, relaxed kid meals and craft time at night.

Spring has come! Ha, ha!

It is 70 degrees here in Kansas today! Everyone is running around in shorts and t-shirts. The sun is out, its absolutely beautiful. A girlfriend brought her kids by this am and we had a play date. It was very relaxing to sit out on the patio and get some rays.

My niece has been in the hospital all week with some sort of blood infection. (very scary!) I whipped her up this dolly even though she is way past the dolly stage, but I thought she would like it. I enjoy working on a project with someone specific in mind because each stitch has a thought about them or for them in it. Silly, huh?

A scarf I completed. 3 rows of HDC one row of 3 HDC with a chain one, sk 1. add curly Q fringe.

Hello February!

I've been MIA in the blogging world, but that does mean ny hands have been idle. I've started a host of new projects and even finished a few.

First an update on life in general....well...the sad economy has finally caught up with this family. My DH has been laid off. So far we'll be able to manage, but keep your fingerst crossed for something to pop up soon. Our market here in kansas has been thoroughly satuarated with talented workers since Sprint has gone through a huge round of lay-offs, but we're keeping our chins up and faith strong.

My oldest is entering the spring of his final year in HS. He has applied and been accepted into the achitect program at KSU.

My DD broke her ring finger last week(Drama!!)

Trenton turned 6 on Saturday and we had a great pool party at the Rec center here. I know, I know it was January, but we called it "Bummer it's not summer pool party!" Pretty cute, eh?

And now onto the good stuff...the PROJECTS:

Baby Blanket for a teacher who is due in April.(So proud of myself; I planned ahead!)
