Wow! We have been back in school for 2 weeks now! It has been good to be back in my classroom and seeing little shining faces looking up at me. I tell myself every morning, "These are special gifts, that you must look after carefully, every day until you return them to their parents every afternoon." I try to remember every name and remember every face. They are so dear to me. I hope they know how much they are loved.

Projects are a bit scarce right now because I have been focusing all my attention on my students, class, and family. The flower box afghan has almost all its squares done, so it'll be ready to piece together soon.

Take care blog readers and enjoy the last few days of August, "the times she are a changing......".(To quote a famous song write) Fall will be upon us before to long.

Blueberry Muff-yums!

Fresh Blueberries!

Back in a delightful June day in Kansas(betcha never thought you'd hear that sentence ever spoken!). The temperature hovered around 78 degrees, the golden sun shone brightly, and the cerulean prairie sky wrapped the scenery. I talked my family into taking me blueberry picking. We have a wonderful patch about 10 miles from the house(that's barely 10 minutes away on the highway) What a bonanza! We picked about 5 lbs. of berries(about $12.00 worth.) I froze them as soon as we got home and have been sneaking them in here and there for a month now and never showed you any of the treats I tried. Well, using this recipe:Blueberry muffin recipe, I have a winner!!!!! They are absolutely delicious and the blogger who wrote this recipe down is right about how inviting their appearance is. The smell through the house was incredible: the butter in the topping browning and mingling with the cinnamon, had everyone in my house at the kitchen ready to go way before the buzzer went off.

Suffice it to say, what a way to substitiute lunch with a delightful treat and I can say I got my "fruit" today. LOL.

Sneak peek at the hexagon project.....stay tuned!
